The California Library Association is looking for motivated paraprofessional staff and early career librarians who want to grow their leadership skills to participate in the 2019-2020 California New Leaders program. In partnership with the California Library Association and the California State Library, this NEW program offers 4 in-person trainings to help staff develop and sharpen their leadership skills based on the LLAMA national leadership competencies for libraries, archives and museums. Successful applicants will receive financial support to attend a series of four learning opportunities at locations around the state as well as have access to additional educational resources. Please note that an MLIS is NOT required to apply for this new program.
Below are scheduled training dates. (locations subject to change):
Training #1 Feb 12-14 (2.5 days. Day 1 will begin @ 5pm. Day 2 & 3 will run from 9am – 4pm) in Ontario.
Training #2 April 23-24 (1.5 days. Day 1 will begin @ 5pm. Day 2 will run from 9am – 4pm) in Oakland
Training #3 May TBA
Training #4 Wrap-up June 18-19 (1.5 days. Day 1 will begin @ 5pm. Day 2 will run from 9am – 4pm) in Ontario
